Διαδικασίες διασφάλισης ποιότητας

The Department of Informatics and Telecommunications and the M.Sc. "Computer Science" apply the quality assurance procedures mandated by and prescribed in the University's Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS), with the appropriate specialization for 2nd cycle study programs. The implementation of the IQAS procedures is carried out in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU/MODIP) of the University of Peloponnese. The quality assurance procedures are a valuable tool for the Department and the individual M.Sc. programmes for the implementation of their teaching and research activities, the achievement of the goals that have been set, and the upgrading of the academic work in general.

The procedures applied to monitor and continuously improve the quality of the M.Sc. "Computer Science" are set as follows:

  1. Implementation of a quality assurance policy for the M.Sc. programme "Computer Science" which will include targeted quality actions to create a framework within which the M.Sc. must operate. The M.Sc. programme's quality assurance policy is published on the website of the M.Sc. programme.
  2. Allocation and management of the resources of the "Computer Science" M.Sc. programme through processes that assist in making optimal choices to create an appropriate environment for achieving the common goals of the Department and the M.Sc. programme. These include ensuring the necessary resources in personnel, infrastructure, and computing or other equipment to ensure the effective operation of the M.Sc. and the improvement of its quality indicators.
  3. Setting of appropriate targets for the quality assurance of the M.Sc. programme "Computer Science", on an annual basis. The strategic goals of the M.Sc. are selected after consultation and agreement among the Department's and M.Sc.'s administrative bodies, ensuring that they are measurable and directly observable annual quantitative and qualitative goals, which are assessed by specific indicators. The achievement of the goals will be of key importance for improving the efficiency of the internal procedures and functions of the M.Sc. programme (administrative, educational, and research).
  4. Periodic internal evaluation and continuous monitoring of the M.Sc. programme "Computer Science" with the support of the University's QAU (MODIP). Internal evaluation aims to assess the processes implemented, in order to highlight good practices and identify points that can be improved, to achieve the quality objectives that have been set.
  5. Collection of quality data: measurement, analysis and improvement of the "Computer Science" M.Sc. programme. Effective data collection and analysis procedures (which are complete, accurate, and up-to-date) are in place, including information on the structure and organization of courses, students, teaching staff, teaching, and the provision of services to the students of the M.Sc. programme. The data in question are fed as input to the information systems of the Department and the University, as well as to the Quality Data Management System (QDMS) information system of the Greek Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).
  6. Publication of information on the "Computer Science" MSc programme. The adoption of this practice makes the information concerning the said PMS immediately accessible, up-to-date and ensures that it is stated objectively and clearly. In addition to being posted on the M.Sc. programme's website, important information is also published in a special areas on the websites of the Department and/or the University, in order to increase the visibility of the program. The information disclosure process takes into account the existence of bilingual content and its control and updating practices.
  7. External evaluation of the "Computer Science" M.Sc. programme. In addition to the above-mentioned procedures, the M.Sc. is periodically evaluated and certified by committees of independent experts appointed by the Greek HAHE.
